Roni Hardie, Principal
Mrs. Hardie has a 36 year commitment to public education. She first taught math and physics at Claremont High School in Claremont, California for 14 years. She then served as a Counselor/Attendance Administrator and Assistant Principal in Claremont for 4 years. Mrs. Hardie and her family relocated to Redmond, WA in 1989 when she assumed a position as the Assistant Principal at Juanita High School. When Eastlake High School opened in 1993, she was selected as the Associate Principal. She served in that role until 1998, when she assumed the co-principalship for 3 years. Currently, Mrs. Hardie is serving as the Principal of Eastlake High School and the newly formed choice school, The Renaissance School of Arts and Reasoning, located on Eastlake’s campus. Mrs. Hardie values her 38 year marriage to her best friend, Jerry. They are both very proud of their two daughters, Erin and Alison who serve as an elementary school teacher and labor and delivery nurse, respectively. In her spare time, Mrs. Hardie enjoys her 3 granddaughters, gardening and cooking. Mrs. Hardie is very proud of the accomplishments of both her students and staff and views her main role as supporting their growth and success.
Kathy Colombo, Teacher
Kathy has been an educator for twenty-seven years, and is starting her second year at Renaissance School this upcoming school year. She taught elementary school in Alaska before settling in Seattle where she taught in a private school for several years before arriving in the Lake Washington School District. She taught seventh grade math and science at Finn Hill Junior High before transferring to Inglewood Junior High where she taught eight and ninth grade science for thirteen years. She worked at the district level in Professional Development on the Science Content team co-coordinating and working with K-12 science teachers. She received National Board Certification in science in 2004. She believes education should allow students to realize their own passions in life through the educational process. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and the activities of her four boys. Each one adds new adventure and new learning to her day. They make their home in South Seattle where they have lived for twenty–five years. Kathy especially enjoys activities involve camping, hiking and cross country skiing with family and friends.
Martha Daman, Teacher
Originally from San Jose, CA, Martha moved to Redmond, WA, with her family the same year she graduated from Redmond High School [Class of '94]. At Central Washington University, she earned degrees in English, History, and Education. Prior to teaching at Renaissance School, she taught at BEST High School for six years. During her first year at BEST, 2000-2001 school year, she taught in the Night School program and substituted during the day. In October of 2005, Martha graduated with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Argosy University. Last year she enjoyed being part of the inaugural team for Renaissance School. Martha looks forward to working with our new 7th grade students and our wonderful group of returning 8th graders. She teaches 8th grade language arts, social studies, and CPE (Creative Physical Movement). Not only does she love to teach, but she enjoys reading, dancing, cooking, cross-stitching, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and two cats, Lola and Frankie. She began dancing at the age of three, and danced all the way through elementary school, junior high, and high school. Once she arrived at Central Washington University, she began dancing with the dance company, Orchesis. During this time, she performed solos, participated in group dances, and choreographed her own dances. She continues to dance and from time to time; she takes classes at the Madrona Dance Center, the home of Spectrum Dance Theater; she performed with Jerboa Dance Company in Seattle September of 2005. She is married to John C. Daman. John and she met in California a year and a half prior to her move to Washington. Although they spent a couple of years working on a long distance relationship, they managed to survive the distance and John moved up to Washington. They have been enjoying, over the last year and three months, watching their first child, Molly, grow and develop. Molly has been known to make special appearances at school and school functions.

Christopher Fraley, Teacher
Christopher Fraley has been an educator since 1990. He began teaching Mathematics at the Renaissance School of Art and Reasoning in 2007. From 1994 to 2004, he supported K-12 teaching staffs in the the Lake Washington School District as an instruction and mathematics specialist in the Staff Development Department. Christopher Fraley earned his masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction through the Ford Fellow program at the University of Washington. He co-wrote and coordinated two National Science Foundation grant projects focused on developing teacher leaders in mathematics in the Puget Sound area. He provides on-going support to a variety of grant projects focused on the creation of professional development materials for mathematics teachers. Prior to teaching, Christopher Fraley worked as a student chemistry technician at Teledyne Wah Chang in Albany, Oregon. He also did a summer internship at Battelle -Pacific Northwest Laboratory on the Hanford Reservation in Richland, Washington. In his spare time, Christopher Fraley enjoys reading, traveling, camping, learning and playing with his family.
Diane Kane, Head Teacher
Diane came to teaching after enjoying several mini-careers and raising a family. She taught 5th and 6th grade at A. G. Bell Elementary for eight years, before joining staff development as an elementary mathematics specialist. Diane has appreciated and supported the arts for much of her adult life. She has managed a dance company, co-chaired several committees for a major art auction that helped fund a museum, taught art classes for children and taken art classes. Married for 33 years, Diane and her husband, Steve, have three children. The eldest, Erin, is a fourth grade teacher; Deirdre is a supervisor for a marketing firm; Brendan is a freshman at Montana State University, their alma mater. Diane enjoys music, reading, cooking, outdoor activities of all kinds, and yoga. Diane is passionate about teaching and learning and believes all children deserve the opportunity to succeed at their highest levels.
