"At Rose Hill Elementary all children will be provided an education that develops the intellectual and social skills necessary to participate as a responsible citizen."
Beliefs:
1. The purpose of education is to develop learners who:
a) can reason and use mind well,
b) have skill habits and beliefs to participate productively and in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and global economy,
c) develop capacity in children and the motivation to continually increase that capacity.
2. Each student will learn when presented with opportunities, success in learning leads to more success.
3. It is the responsibility of educators to provide student work which they can experience success at and which they can see value to them personally, the community and the society as a whole.
4. Pride in work and quality products, motivate learners to keep learning.
5. The purpose and activities of schools should be centered around students and designing and engaging them in meaningful learning activities.
6. Schools should be structured so that teachers are encouraged and supported in creating work that responds to the needs of the child.
7. Teachers are leaders - Principal's role is to promote leadership by lending direction, support and un- blocking roadblocks.
8. Schools must build collaborative, cooperative partnerships with parents and community.
