2008 Junior Varsity Results Season Final Results : 13 - 4 - 1 Redmond (9) at Bothell (17) March 11, 2008 Under dark skies and heavy on and off rain the JV Mustangs lost a rainout in the 5th inning 17 - 9. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ballard at Redmond March13, 2008 at Hartman Park Rainout after 2 innings ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roosevelt (1) at Redmond (11) March 17, 2008 at Hartman Park The Mustangs "10 runned" the Roosevelt Roughriders winning 11-1 in the 5th inning. With excellent pitching by JJ Kinssies and Chad Hui-Peterson, they held the Roughriders to 1 run, while the Mustang offense kept the bats hot through every inning. Major highlights: Matt Kimmel drove a double in the left corner while the bases were loaded, driving in 3 runs. Colin Porter closed the door on the Roughriders by delivering a walk-off 3 run homer. Great game Gentlemen! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Redmond (9) at Lake Washington (4) March 19, 2008 at Lee Johnson Park in Kirkland The JV Mustangs played another solid game today jumping on the LDub Kangs 9 - 4. Great offense and rock solid pitching has been the theme this week. Matt Kimmel and Colin O'Brocta held the Kangs to 1 run through the 6th inning. Strong bats continued for the lineup with runs batted in by Matt Kimmel, Colin Porter, Brian Grina and Drew Fosnes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juanita (2) at Redmond (3) March 21, 2008 at Hartman Park, Redmond 3rd consecutive win for the JV Mustangs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Woodinville (7) at Redmond (10) March 24, 2008 at Hartman Park, Redmond 4th consecutive win for the JV Mustangs. Pitchers: Matt Kimmel (3), JJ Kinssies (3), Colin Porter (C), and Ryan Beliel (C). Great hitting and base stealing by Matt Kimmel. Colin Porter had a home run to bring Matt in for two runs. Tied at the bottom of the 7th, Colin hit Matt in to end the game 8 -7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Redmond (5) at Inglemoor (6) March 26, 2008 at Inglemoor HS field The JV Mustangs lost 6 - 5 in one of the best match ups of the season. Chad Hui-Peterson had another great game giving up only 1 run through 4 innings. Josh Bircher, Cody Rose, Brian Grina, Steve Thompson, (double) and Tyler Coffman all had hits, with RBIs for Cody and Tyler (2). Josh B., brought his usual base running skills to steal 2nd and 3rd, allowing Brian G. to bring him home on a sacrifice fly. Ryan Beliel lead the team to a 9 -1 trouncing over Juanita. Ryan pitched a complete game, allowing only 2 hits. On the way, Ryan had 6 K's with no walks! Offensive highlights: J.J. Kinssies went 4 for 4 and Colin O'Brochta was 2 for 3 with a sacrifice and had 4 RBIs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lake Washington (5) at Redmond (10) April 17, 2008 Starting pitcher Colin O'Brochta gets the win.3 K's, 3 BB's, 5 ER's, 4 IP; Nolan Thomas - 2 for 3 hitting, scored 2 runs, 1 RBI; Colin O'Brochta - 4 RBI's - 1 for 3 hitting with a BB; Brian Grina - 3 RBI's, 1 for 4 hitting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inglemoor (1) at Redmond (6) April 21, 2008 Chad Hui-Peterson pitched 6 innings for the Mustangs holding the Vikings to 1 run. Cody Rose closed. The major offensive highlight was a 3 run home run by Drew Fosnes early in the game. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juanita (4) at Redmond (4) April 23, 2008 The JV Stangs came back from a deficit to tie Juanita after 10 innings at Hartman Park. Keeping Juanita at bay for 5 innings, Matt Kimmel pitched a brilliant close. Unfortunately the usual strong bats of the Mustangs were to late in coming while time ran out. The game ended in a tie, 4 - 4. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Garfield (0) at Redmond (10) April 28, 2008 "The Sheriff", Chad Hui-Peterson lead an outstanding defensive game along with Brian Grina, Josh Bircher and Nolan Thomas. Dillon Byrne pitched all five innings, keeping Garfield off-balance with great ball placement and off speed pitches. No runs scored, he had 3 K's and no walks.
