Redmond High School Cross Country

Why run Cross Country?

Cross country is a good place to learn something about oneself. We try to prepare our athletes to be healthy, happy, and wise. Colleges look favorably on students who have participated in cross country because it demonstrates self-discipline and dedication. We stress consistent training, improvement, and proper pacing. All are able to achieve success. We work hard, have lots of fun, share many rewarding experiences, and are sad when the season ends.

Things to remember about cross country!

  • It is a coed sport

  • No previous experience is necessary to turn out

  • No one is ever cut from the team

  • Everyone gets to “play”, no one has to sit

  • We have fun with pasta parties, slurpee runs, etc…

  • Good fitness for another sport or for your health

  • Most earn a Varsity letter

  • Travel, friendships, learn skills and values for the future

  • Be a part of a winning team with a good tradition

Wanna turn out for Cross Country?

Just pick up the athletic forms at the RHS Athletic Office. Fill them out. Have reciepts of your ASB purchase and Participation Fee. Once you got all that, you should submit these items to the Athletic Office in-person.

Note: The Athletic Office will be closed from late June to early August. Make sure you know when the office re-opens.

Parents of students who are unable to afford the fee should complete a Fee Waiver Request and contact the coach or athletic director at their school.
