Student Expectations And Responsibilities

General:

1. Report to the locker room on time, dress quickly and wait to be excused. Tardies will result in a loss of participation points.

2. Check your lock and basket to make sure everything is stored properly.

3. The P.E. Department cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. Locker rooms will remain unlocked, so lock all valuables in your P.E. basket.

4. All students will be issued a lock. If it is lost or stolen the student will be assessed a $5.00 fine. Please report it to your teacher.

5. Warm-ups are a very important aspect of all physical activities. All students are expected to execute the exercises through a full rang of motion.

6. Appropriate P.E. attire must be worn to class: tennis shoes, shorts or sweat-shirts and/or sweat shirts. No school clothes or school athletic wear will be allowed.

7. Classes will be outside at times even in the inclement weather.

Running days: (Twice A Week)

1. Please do not make excuses to get out of running or other cardiovascular activities. If you are well enough to be at school you should be able to suit up and do the best you can for that particular day.

2. Use your running time constructively. The more effort you put into your work-out the more you will benefit from it.

3. Students who do not put forth adequate effort based on their physical condition will be expected to participate in an aerobic activity the next day.

4. If you have an injury that prevents your from participating in normal class activities; you will be assigned an alternate activity or assignment at your teacher's discretion.

5. Please suit up everyday and participate to the best of your ability.

Unit Days:

1. Listen intently to all instructions.

2. Perform al drills to the best of your abilities.

3. If you are already proficient in the activity, please assist others who are not.

4. Treat your classmates with the same respect that you want them to give you.

5. All students will be given hand-outs for each unit. These hand-outs will be worth 10 points when they are turned in on test days.

6. Tests will be given the last day of each unit.

Make-up policy:

1. All excused absences may be made up. Pick up a make up sheet from a teacher and perform one of the listed activities under your parent supervision.

2. Turn in the sheet within two weeks of your absence with your parent signature.

3. You must also complete your cardio sheet for running day absences.

Grading procedure:

1. Daily participation points are based on attitude and effort.

2. Cardio sheets are turned in once a week for 20 points.

3 Unit tests will be given after each unit.
