bulletQuestion:  What if I want to play the saxophone in band?
Answer:  The clarinet and the saxophone are very similar instruments. The fingerings and the embouchure are very similar.   Saxophone players usually start on the clarinet in 5th grade band and then change to saxophone in 6th grade or wait until Junior High and then play both instruments.  Many students start on clarinet and then play the saxophone in Jazz Band when they reach Junior High while continuing to play clarinet in Concert Band.  These students become very talented on both instruments.
