Marrowstone
in the City
Inspired by the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras’ Marrowstone Music
Festival, Marrowstone-in-the-City (MITC) is a Seattle-based program designed
to provide excellent musical instruction and orchestral training for the
younger musician, ages 7-13. The program includes string and wind ensembles,
chamber music, sectional and full orchestra rehearsals, as well as master
classes, a daytime chamber music performance, and a final evening concert for
all students. Students will participate in recreational activities, including
a field trip to Western Washington University in Bellingham to visit and
rehearse with students at the Marrowstone Music Festival. MITC is designed for
students who have at least two years of playing experience, or a minimum of

Marrowstone
Music Festival
The Marrowstone Music Festival offers students a unique setting for intense musical and personal growth. Designed for students ages 13-23, Marrowstone offers two and three week session at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. A diverse group of renowned artist faculty guide students from throughout North America in a curriculum that includes master classes, chamber music coaching, orchestra rehearsals, and section rehearsals. All these elements culminate in orchestral and chamber performances. Marrowstone strives to foster individual growth while at the same time inspiring students to learn together and help one another.
