Hi my name is Devin Hector. I am doing a web site about house and field slaves. This is basically about the life of house slaves and field slaves. I will teach you what the house slaves did for work and what the field slaves did for work. House slaves were basically servants for the white rich people. They would make their beds, cook their food ( if they were reasonably good cooks ), take care of their flowers and the grass, and many other jobs. They were considered to have a better life because the Masters were usually nicer than the men that made sure that the field slaves were working. And even sometimes the house servants ( if the house was big enough or the master had spare rooms ) they were able to stay in the house.     Field slaves were the young men that were strong enough to work in the fields, women who could range from 15 to 50. They plowed the field, planted crops, worked on the horses, and did the rest of the so called manual labor. They were harshly punished and often tried to escape. They lived in old shacks that were only 1 room big, and usually the slaves had to fit their whole family in that very in closed area.   That is what the house and slaves did for work then.
