A team can only score while it is serving.

A Side out is called when the serving team fails to score.

A team is allowed 3 hits per side:

Games are to 15 points. The winning team must win by 3 pts.

A match consists of the best 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 games.

It is legal to play the ball out of the net except on a

It is illegal to attack a serve while playing in the front

It is illegal to block a serve, with no forward motion
allowed.

A team may play the ball off the ceiling on their side only.
A violation on the serving team results in a side-out.
A violation on the receiving team results in a point for the
serving team.

Carry- holding or lifting the ball.

Delay of game- taking more than 5 seconds to serve.

Double Hit- contacting the ball twice on a single attempt.

Foot Fault- stepping on or over the end line on a serve.

Centerline violation- stepping over the centerline while the
ball is in play.

Net- touching the net while the ball is in play.

4 hits- a team may contact the ball only 3 times. (A block
does not count as a hit)

Illegal serve- catching a bad toss.

Reaching over the net- a player may not reach over the net
and block an intended set. You may reach over the block to spike.

Held Ball- A ball that is held at the top of the newt by two
opposing players.

Back row spiker- a back row player can not cross the 3m/
attack line and play the ball above the net. A player may ump from clearly
behind the attack line and spike the ball over the net
