Before starting any project always read directions and make sure that you have all the ingredients that you will need

Always have all measuring utensils clean so you won't have to wash them numerous times while cooking

Have towels ready in case you make a mess

Keep burner's off so that you will not burn yourself

When using yeast, always have the liquid warm, but not to hot or it will destroy yeast

Always keep an extra bag of sugar around (this stuff runs out fast)

Preheat the oven before you have to start mixing, the oven will be hot by the time you need it cooked

oil pans that will need to be used in baking before baking so nothing sticks

Baking cocoa is always needed keep it around

Baking powder and soda are leavening agents you will need them for anything that rise including cookies and brownies

Don't overdose on sugar, you might need to add another few teaspoons but you can ruin something if it has to much

A small teaspoon of vanilla can put a lot of flavor into a pastry

Try to use extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil or canola oil, its better for you and it has a nice tangy flavor

When frying with oil, be really careful the oil splatters and burns really hot
