Circulatory System

This webpage is all about the circulatory system and I hope you learn something from this page. My goal for this page is not to confuse with confusing names and topics but to provide you with a easy to understand webpage that you can actualy take info from and learn and not be confused! I could go into many more detail on each thing but it would be unecessary and confusing.

About Me

Hi, my name is Brody and the creater of this webpage. I constructed this in the Generation Why program for my school Rose Hill Junior High. I live in Kirkland, Washington. In in my free time I love to run track for my school. I also play soccer and basketball. But my favorite thing to do is SNOWBOARD!!!!!!! That was a little on me and I hope you enjoy my webpage.

What it is

The system that responsible for transporting nutrients to, and wastes from, the cells in the human body.

What it does

1. Carries food and oxygen to the body.

2. Removes waste products from cells.

3. Protects us from disease.

4. The circulatory sytem ensures every cell in your body recieves a constant supply of blood. The blood delivers nutrients and oxygen to your cells, removes wastes products and carbon dioxide all through your blood vessels.

It is a network of veins, arteries, and vessels that carry blood around your body.

How it works

The heart first pumps the blood and the passage way for it is called blood vessels. The blood goes everywhere in the body. And the arteries carry the blood away from the heart. The blood first leaves your heart from the left ventricle and into the aorta ( the biggest artery). The aorta gets smaller and smaller as they move away from the heart. At a time a blood vessel get s so small that a single blood cell passes threw one at a time. At this point it is now a capillarie. Substances are exchanged between the blood and the tissue. The blood in it remove wastes and supply nutrients and oxygen to the tissue. After the blood has done all that it flows through veins and back into the heart. Opposite the arteries the veins get bigger and bigger as the blood gets closer to the Heart.

The parts

The circulatory system consists of heart, blood vessels, and blood.

The blood transports nutrients and wastes. Formed elements and plasma are the two basic components that are in your blood. Plasma contributes about 55 percent of the blood's volume. It is made up of dissolved subtances and water. Some of the dissolved subtances are hormones, proteins, nutrients, and wastes. Formed elements are cells and half of them are red blood cells. Red blood cells carry food, oxegon and wastes. And about 15% of them are whits blood cells. And the remaining is mad e up of Plateles. Plateles are good cause they help with clotting. The functions of the blood are

- carries oxygen and nutrients to body cells
- carries secretions and metabolic wastes away from cells
- contains phagocytic cells that fight infection
- contains chemicals that buffer internal pH
- helps maintain normal body temperature. (birds and mammals; distributes metabolic heat within the body and helps rid body of excess heat)

The Heart is one of the most vital organs. The heart consists of four chambers. Two upper and two lower. It is about the size of your fist and a adult heart pumps about 5 L of blood a minute.

BLOOD VESSELS

Arteries are vessels that caryy blood away from the heart. And are thick and musclar.

Veins are vessels that carry blood toward the heart, lungs and kidneys.

Capillaries are the tiny vessels that connect the arteries to the veins. There are also the smallest blood vessel. They also deliver nutrients and removes waste.

Your circulatory system is like a mine car it takes things to different places and takes things away from different places.

All these people have circulatory systems

If did not have a circulatory system you could not.......
