Hiders

They were forced into hiding on July 6 of 1942. During the two years and thirty days of hiding Peter and Anne develope a relationship. All of the hiders quarrele with each other. Mr. and Mrs. van Pels (van Daan) fight over several issues. Mrs. Frank and Mr. van Daan argue over food. Mr. Dussel and Anne argue because he thought Anne needed to be better behaved. Peter argues with his father because he didn't finish his homework. The Nazis raided the Annex and arrested the hiders on August 4 of 1944.

This is what happened after they were arrested:

Otto Frank survived the war.

Edith Frank died on January 6 of 1945 in Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Margot Frank died sometime around March 31 of 1945 in Bergen-Belsen, a concentration camp, because of typhus.

Anne Frank also died sometime around March 31 of 1945 in Bergen-Belsen because of typhus.

Hermann van Pels (Mr. van Daan) died on September 6 of 1944. He was gassed in Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Auguste van Pels (Mrs. van Daan) died between April 9 and May 8 of 1945 in Germany or Czechoslovakia.

Peter van Pels (Peter van Daan) died on May 5 of 1945 in Mauthausen, a concentration camp in Austria, after a forced march.

Fritz Pfeffer (Albert Dussel) died on December 20 of 1944 in Neuengamme, a concentration camp.
