Odysseus
Odysseus, son of Laertes. Married Penelope and had a child
named Telemachos. Odysseus is known as the man never at a loss. He was a
very bright person who used his cunning mind to get out of many
threatening situations.

Penelope
Faithful wife of Odysseus. Mother of Telemachos. Pestered
by suitors to marry again for 10 years because they think Odysseus is
dead.

Telemachos
Thoughtful son of Odysseus and Penelope. Is inspired by
Athena to go find news of his father. |

Poseidon
God of the sea. Son of Kronos and Rheia, brother of
Zeus, Ares, Hestia, Demeter and Hera. One of the six original Olympians. .
Poseidon was commonly called the earth
shaker and the earth encircler. Considered the second most powerful god.
Holds grudge against Odysseus for blinding his son the Cyclops Polyphemus. |

Goddess of wisdom. Zeus's favorite daughter. Helps
Odysseus many times through out the Odyssey because she |

Suitors
There were many suitors trying to marry Penelope while
Odysseus was on his journey home. There were two leaders of the suitors
Antinoos "ring leader" and Eurymachos "second in
command." |
