Incline
planes is a slant surface used to raise an object. The most obvious example is a
ramp. Click on the Picture to the left to see a larger version. Incline planes
are used to raise an object with less effort over long distance than actually
lifting up which uses more effort. So it is easier push something up a ramp than
actually lifting it up.
