| I graduated from Houghton
College with a B.A. in literature and writing in 1989, and from the University
of Washington with an M.A. in English literature in 1991. I
also hold endorsements in social studies, history, English and language
arts. Last year I completed my National
Board certification. I have been at
Rose Hill since 1994, where I have taught seventh grade LA, and eighth and ninth grade
LA and SS. I have also taught Generation
YES, a technology training class.
Last summer (2006) I visited Thailand, Laos and Malaysia, where I spent
my early childhood. I had a chance to show my children where I lived
and went to school. We also rode elephants, went snorkeling, and
visited friends. This summer (2007) I took a course through the
AP Institute on teaching World History. I also presented at the
National Staff Development Council in Denver on "Synergizing School
Improvement", along with Mrs. Wegener. My hobbies include taking walks, learning more about
computers and curling up with a good book. I love teaching, and think it's the
greatest profession in the world!
