Rose Hill Junior High is proud to emphasize reading as part of its school-wide focus. Not only does Rose Hill have a required summer reading program, but students must also read a book per quarter for each of their core classes: English, Social Studies, Math and Science. Summer Reading Summer Reading - Rose Hill has started a proud tradition of summer reading. Our students get a head start in the fall by coming prepared to discuss books they have read over the summer, and can immediately begin the process of literary analysis. Specific grade level requirements are provided through the links below.
Watching Your Movie at the Library! Ninth graders may sign up to watch the movies at the Kirkland Public Library. Certain movies will be available certain weeks. Check the schedule. Then call the library to reserve the room for viewing. You may watch in groups of about three. Read the directions HERE! Both Kirkland and Redmond Public libraries have these novels available for check out. Local bookstores may have copies in stock for purchase, as well. Ideally, we would like you to buy your own copy, so that you can have the book in hand for the novel study in the fall. If you decide to purchase from www.Amazon.com , you may want to visit our library’s wish list, under “RHJH PTSA Library Project”. We are hoping that some RHJH families will wish to donate summer reading titles to the library for use by those students who cannot buy their own copy. Having a copy will eliminate students having to work exclusively from memory and will assist them with their literary analysis. On the Amazon website under Gift and Wish Lists, you can type RHJH into the search box and our list will be displayed. Thank you for considering a tax-deductible donation to our library. Quarterly Book Requirements: follow these links to see the AR lists. During the school year, students are expected to read at least one book per quarter. The schedule for these books is listed below.
