Mr. Allen on the edge!
In 4th grade at Redmond Elementary, we use the District's adopted
reading program from
Houghton Mifflin Reading series. This program
optimizes whole group instruction as well as small flexible groups.
During the flexible group instruction, all students will be placed
into flexible groups based on their individual needs.
Our writing program is focused around the Step Up to Writing program. This year in 4th grade we will continue to build on the paragraph writing instruction from 3rd grade by moving the students into writing multiple paragraph essays and reports.
As we work through the year we will be using a common language in reading and writing as we move through both of these curriculums. This is also true as we continue to work with our students in the reading and writing for math and science.
