Safety Patrol Daily Schedule

*      Members will be working one week in every three-week rotation throughout the year.

*      Members are to be assigned by captains in the morning.  You will do the same job after school, unless you are absent for some reason, then someone will take that position.

*      While walking to patrol, please do so quietly so you don’t interrupt classes.

*      Students arrive at 8:20 A.M. before school, placing their bags under Ms. Collard’s window.  Squad captains should try to be the first to arrive at the Safety Patrol closet.  Captains take attendance and start making assignments, assigning students that are the first to arrive to the crossing locations first (follow the locations sheet for order), and then students to the grass and walkway areas.  Patrol members quickly get on their vests and receive their assignment from their squad captains.  Once Patrol members have their assignments, they are to pick up a flag, if one is needed, and proceed to their assignments.  Students should be at their posts by 8:25 A.M.

o       The captains get the weather report off the computer in the library, and place it on the clipboard in the office behind Mrs. Gibelyou.

o       The captains get the flag from underneath the blue cabinet in the office, and raise the American flag in the morning after sending out their squad.

o       1 captain needs to be supervising on the grass area in the morning and after school.

*      Afternoon shifts start at 3:25 P.M.  Do not ask your teacher to leave your class before 3:20 P.M.  In some cases you may be asked to stay in your class for a few more minutes by your teachers.  Patrol members will pick up their uniforms from the closet and then meet with their captain at the circle in front of the school.  Your shift ends at 4:00 P.M.
