LWSD Library Curriculum
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students are effective users
 of ideas and information.

Library skills and instruction focus on reading appreciation, the research process, and technology.

At the end of each level, students will have had experience with the library skills listed. The lessons taught during Library class will also support the work of students and teachers in all classrooms.

Level 1- Grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd

Use the research process.

Become familiar with current multi-media technology and production.

Level 3- Grades 6th, 7th, 8th

Use Library sources independently.

Become familiar with junior high library facility and resources. (7th & 8th grades)

Continue to explore a variety of genres and types of books that support the Lake Washington School District Curriculum Framework.

Continue to use the research process.
