My goal is to have the children engaged in the writing process through out the year.  I want them to think of themselves as writers, pick their own topics and take risks as they write.

I have established some simple Writing Rules.  We write with grown up writing pens, use crayons to add color or to publish our work.  They must have their name, date, a picture or illustration that matches their writing. As we move further into the year we ask the children to add more, Who, What, When, Where, Why. 

Children write through out the day in various forms, Writing Folders, Mystery Name messages, Lessons and at choice time for The Author's Chair.
