Birthday Book Club

Commemorate your child’s birthday and support the Christa McAuliffe Library.  Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Birthday Book Club is a cooperative effort between McAuliffe PTSA and the Library which allows participants to give our school community the gift of reading.  By making a donation to the Birthday Book Club, Janet Ahern, our Librarian, is then able to purchase a book from the library’s wish list on your child’s behalf.  New this year, is another option.  You may pick a book off our library’s Amazon wish list, and your child may bring this book to school. 

Once the selected book arrives, a special bookplate is placed inside the front cover stating it was donated by your child in honor of their birthday.  The book will be presented to your child during their classroom library time, so they can be the first to enjoy the new book before it is put on the library shelf.

Please know you do not have to wait until your child’s birthday to join the Birthday Book Club.  You can ‘purchase’ a book at anytime during the school year. The suggested donation for a library book is $15.00. It is a great way to celebrate half birthdays, especially for those summer birthdays.  q       Option B  The Amazon Wish List

Access Amazon at www.amazon.com.  Click on wish list on the top of the page.  Do a wish list search using the e-mail jahern@lkwash.wednet.edu.  Select a book from the wish list that has been created by our Librarian.  You may have the book shipped to your house and have your child carry it in to the library, or you may have it shipped to the address listed for our school.  Please remember to delete your book from the wish list.  If you ship it to the school, please complete the note section stating that it is for the Birthday Book Club and your child’s name.  Please return this form if using the Amazon Wish List so we may match it up with your book.
