LWSD Computer Code of Conduct
1. Protect your logon information from others. Do not use other users’ passwords.
2. Exercise good judgment.
3. Respect district property and be responsible in the use of the equipment. Do not destroy, modify or abuse the hardware or software in any way.
4. Do not delete or add software to district computers without permission.
5. Do not use district computers for illegal, harassing, vandalizing, inappropriate or indecent purposes.
6. Do not use the Internet to access or process pornographic or otherwise inappropriate material.
7. Be ethical and courteous. Do not send hate, harassing or obscene mail, discriminatory remarks, or demonstrate other antisocial behaviors.
8. District computers may not be used to interfere or disrupt other users, services or equipment, including distribution of unsolicited advertising (Spam), propagation of viruses, distribution of large quantities of information (chain letters, network games or broadcasting messages).
9. Do not assume that because something is on the Internet that you can copy it. Respect copyrights.
10. Do not use district computers for commercial or political activity.
Lakeview Computer Code of Conduct
1. Students may use only District approved Internet sites.
2. All students should know their classroom logon. Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students must protect their individual username and password. They must not use logons other than their own. Students must log off when leaving a computer.
3. All computer Code of Conduct rules apply at recess time. Priority use will be give to students working on assigned projects. Non-educational gaming, music downloads, etc. are not allowed.
4. Only the District Elementary Library Page search engines may be used for assigned work. Use Google for Kids first before going to Google.
5. Students may not delete or add software to school computers or change any settings, orientation, etc.
6. Students are expected to respect and take care of computers. They should get keyboards, mice, and headphones ready for the next person to use.
7. Printing is done only with permission and for teacher directed projects.
8. When the Computer Code of Conduct is not followed by a student, consequences may include a warning, Behavior Alert Notice, Communication Slip, parent contact, suspension from use of computers or suspension from school.
