7 Intelligences
Key Point: An intelligence is how you use your thinking to solve problems, how you are smart, how you use your smartness.
One man, Howard Gardner, believes we have at least 7 intelligences:
linguistic-the ability to think in words and use language to tell ideas
logical-mathematical-the ability to measure, compute, use logic, and do math problems
bodily-kinesthetic-the ability to use your body and hands with great skill
visual-spatial-the ability to think in pictures and see shapes, sizes, colors, and designs in the mind and all around us
musical-the ability to hear and use pitch, rhythm, and tone
interpersonal-the ability to understand yourself and use this to plan and make decisions in your life
We all have these intelligences. Some people have more of one, others have more of another. Any of these intelligences can be developed by practicing.
