SEASON OUTLOOK
I’m really
looking forward to my 5th season at JHS. This year we have 5
returning varsity players from last year and 7 incoming sophomores and juniors.
The 5 returning players all played club in the spring and it really shows!
After making the playoffs last year for the first time in 5 years…I’m very
excited about us not only making the playoffs this year, but also winning some
games too! We have some outstanding talent coming in our sophomore and junior
class, so I can’t wait to see how the season goes.
Again, this year
we only have 2 teams representing the Rebels; 24 girls (11 on JV and 13 on
Varsity) who really want to work hard and win!!! We have again changed our
coaching staff, as both my coaches from last year are living abroad right now.
Our new JV coach is Shari Dunn, who coached at Finn Hill Jr. High last year.
Shari is a JHS grad, so she’s coming home to her roots.
Also, I have a
new Varsity assistant Lindsay Patterman. Lindsay is a graduate of WSU and is
doing her student teaching at a local elementary here in Kirkland. She will
provide a lot of nutrition and health and fitness knowledge to our program,
which has been sorely missing in years past.
Can’t wait til
the games start…I know we are going to be a great competitor this year, come out
and watch us win some games!
