Thornton
Wilder created the People of the Town to give Grover’s Corners
a depth of character that is at once both charming, and poignant.
Characters include the church choir, the congregation at the wedding, the ‘audience’ members, the mourners at the
funeral,
and the souls on the windy hilltop above the town.
