Dear Students and Parents,
Another school year is upon us, and I am eager and ready to get started! I hope you have enjoyed a relaxing summer with family and friends, and bring those summer stories to share with us when you return.
Soon we will be off and running and our campus will be busy with staff and students excited about beginning the 2006-07 school year. We have planned some events that we hope you can attend to help the transition from summer vacation to school a bit easier. Please put the following events on your calendar:
•       Campus Pride Day on August 26 th , 9am-2pm at Finn Hill Junior High. Parents, students, families and community members are invited to join us help beautify our campus!
•      Preparation Days :
•      August 30 th - 7 th grade
•      August 31 st - 8 th and 9 th grades
(Details for these days are located on another form in this packet)
•       Seventh Grade Orientation - September 5 th , 8:10am-2:45pm. This is the first day of school for 7 th graders and new 8 th and 9 th graders. Orientation will be hosted by our 9 th grade WEB Leaders. (Where Everybody Belongs).
•       First Day of School for All Grades - September 6 th , 8:10am-1:15pm.
LEAP Day dismissal time at 1:15pm

Parents, as your students grow into the teen years, it is not the time to back away from their lives! If anything, it is crucial that you become more involved. At Finn Hill, we encourage you to join PTSA, support our fundraisers, and volunteer at school events. Please help your student stay focused by reviewing the Student Handbook/Planner together at the beginning of the school year, as there are some changes this year . Help your student stay organized by reviewing the Student Planner daily, and check in frequently with teachers. As always, do not hesitate to contact the staff at Finn Hill if we can assist you or your student in any way. We look forward to working with you, as a team, for the academic and social success of your student.

Enjoy your final days of summer as we renew and rejuvenate for a new school year. I hope to see all of you later this month at Campus Pride Day and Preparation Day.
