Concert Info
—ALL Concerts Start at 7:15 pm, unless otherwise noted

-The Concert is considered a FINAL, a culmination of our work.  Attendance is REQUIRED.

-Family emergencies and illnesses are the only reasons to miss without prior notice

-Out of fairness to the other members who are relying on you to be here, you must inform your director of  your

absence at least two weeks in advance of a concert, if absolutely necessary.

-Although concerts can’t be made up, you can create an alternate assignment at 70% credit, but YOU must contact me and make arrangements (you’re the worker); otherwise you will lose at least one grade level.

-We will at times play a day concert for the student body.  You will be excused 10-15 minutes early to get ready.  These  may be “pep” assemblies (normal clothes) or “formal” concerts (Concert Uniform).

-Concert Uniform you will need to provide:

white formal shirt or blouse, ties for the gentlemen

black formal shoes (NO open-toed shoes with big heels/soles)

black formal socks, stockings or nylons-please, no bare legs

black formal pants, skirt (knee length or longer), or dress

            * No performer will “walk on stage” without these basics!*

(if there is any problem with providing these, please contact me well ahead of time.  We have some  pants, shoes, and shirts: otherwise I will assume that you will have them by the concert)

-Concert and Festival Etiquette (good audience behavior)

-Expected of ALL Evergreen performers at all times.

-Be at school, in the band room ready to go at 6:40 for each 7:15 concert.  We start on time

-You are expected to stay for the entire concert, and be an appropriate audience member. Support your collegues!

-Set-up right after school, a small crew of around 7-10  people works.

-ALL are expected to help tear down; Woodwind players take all stands and arrange them as normal in the

band room.  Brass Players will stack all the chairs correctly on the rolling racks, and move class chairs back.

Percussion will push all your equipment and sound equipment to the side to move the next morning.

-As a Festival Attendee, you are an AMBASSADOR of Evergreen, LWSD, and even Washington!

Act Accordingly at ALL TIMES.  Be a good audience member:  Applaud properly and praise what’s worthy.

-Field Trips-Are really privileges.  All trips require parent permission forms, and “pre-arranged” absences

with your other five teachers.  Make sure that you’re caught up in your classes so there’ll be no problem with  going on the field trips. Otherwise, you may not be able to go…
