Scholastic Book Fair 2006

This year's Scholastic Book Fair was held on November 15th and ran through November 21st.  Our first day of sales took place in the dark since the power went out!  That didn't slow down our shoppers, though.  Our PTA volunteers were busy adding sales with flashlights.  Overall, The fair was a huge success with about $4500 worth of books and cash earned for the library.

Without the book fair we really wouldn't be able to buy new books each year for our library. Most of the building budget allocated to the library pays for basic supplies, magazine subscriptions, and a few books.

We really appreciate the hard work of all our parent volunteers and the generosity of the Blackwell community!

A special thank you to Laura Wilson and Elaine Sawyer who were our outstanding PTA book fair committee leaders this year.  Thanks for organizing volunteers, sending out flyers, hosting the teacher preview, helping with sales, setting-up, and tearing down the book fair.  Their help was greatly appreciated.

Thank you Mrs. Nicholson for being our "Mystery Reader" during our "Family Fun Night."  She did a wonderful job entertaining our families!

Thanks to the many families who bought books to donate to the library and classroom collections, through the "Wish List" program.   Your generosity and kindness is greatly appreciated.

Finally, thanks to PTA for hosting a special teacher preview with delicious goodies.  The teachers enjoyed making their wish lists!
