News from Sammamish
Library
Meet
the author of “Judy Moody” and “Stink,” Megan McDonald, at Sammamish Library on
Friday, October 12th, at 3:30-5pm. Come early for activities, photo
opportunities and prizes. Sammamish Children’s librarians, Pat and Sara, will be
visiting the second grade
classes this fall to distribute new library cards, and to promote the Ready Set
Read program, in which all
children, ages 5-11, read or are read to at home for 20 minutes a day for 20
days. The children will receive a form with 20 dragon footprints to bring home
and complete. At the end of 20 days, children can come into the library to
receive a new, free paperback book of their own choice to keep. The program runs
through April 30, 2008, and can be repeated monthly. Forms and information about
Ready Set Read are available at all KCLS libraries
and at http://www.kcls.org/.
