Hello, I'm Barb from BEST. In my job as Office Manager/Registrar I'm responsible for BEST Day School student records - the coming and going of them. I have worked at BEST for 15 years (longer than anyone else) and have had many different job experiences. I have worked with four principals at two different sites.

I was LWSD Summer School Registrar, Principal’s Assistant, responsible for the budget, payroll, purchasing and now student records. I'm also the first person you encounter when you enter the office. It's a good thing I love working with people, young and old. I have learned so much from our staff and students. Each and everyone brings with them unique gifts and talents.

I graduated from Bellevue High School and attended Business School, took early childhood development classes at Vocational Technical College and at Bellevue Community College and many classes through the LWSD. I worked for Boeing for 10 years in Production Engineering, 3-1/2 years at Sundstrand - Data Processing, 1 year at Operating Engineers, and for two different ophthalmologists. While I was home enjoying our young son, I worked for a real-estate broker and for an aquaculturist, typing reports for projects all over the world.

I'm married to Howard and we have a terrific son – Ryan, 25; he started at Horace Mann Elementary, graduated from Redmond High School and also the University of Washington. He lives in Bellevue. Family and friends are important and we have lots of gatherings and celebrations.

I like to bike, kayak, hike, cross-country ski, and snowshoe. I enjoy working in the garden, like to read and have two books going all the time. I love music - all kinds - and I'm trying to learn how to play the guitar.
