Erin Whittington

Class of 2003

 

Erin Whittington graduated from BEST High School in 2003. She has just finished her second year at Bellevue Community College and has maintained a 3.97 cumulative grade point average. Erin is majoring in chemistry and plans to attend medical school to pursue a career in either ophthalmology or neurology. Along with taking on a full class load, Erin participates in extracurricular activities in the community and on campus. She served as the Vice President of Fellowship for BCC's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (the International honor society of the two-year college) for the 2004-2005 school year. With her school's chapter, Erin helped host the 2004 Bellevue Relay for Life, an event put on yearly in many areas by the American Cancer Society to raise funds for cancer research. In 2004, BCC's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa helped bring in over $78,000 for this cause. Erin has also been volunteering for the past year and a half at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in the emergency room and at the information desks. Erin will be transferring to the University of Washington in Fall of 2005 to begin her junior year in college. Erin's plans for the near future include moving in with her boyfriend Kevin, and preparing for the MCAT, which she plans to take in the Spring of 2006.

 

 

 

In March 2005, Erin received a spot on the All Washington Academic Team and received an award from Governor Christine Gregoire. The award was based on academic achievement, campus involvement, community involvement, essays, and letters of recommendation.
