    America's Story  This site from the Library of Congress has stories of America's past.

         FREE   Federal Resources for Educational Excellence. More than 30 Federal agencies formed a working group in 1997 to make hundreds of federally supported teaching and learning resources easier to find. The result of that work is the FREE web site.

       Jamestown An online adventure

          Lewis and Clark  An online museum interpretation of Lewis and Clark Expedition.

    Smithsonian Institution The student page for the Smithsonian Institution        
 in Washington D.C. has many topics for kids to explore, discover and learn.

    Smithsonian Websites A-Z

    US History  The ushistory.org "Congress of Websites," created and hosted
by the Independence Hall Association in Philadelphia.

    The White House  This site includes information on current and past presidents.  It also has a kids page.

Ancient Times

    Ancient Greece.  In-depth information about different aspects of life in Ancient Greece.

    *At the Tomb of Tutankhamen.    The National Geographic's Web site is a "you-are-there" look at the unearthing of the boy pharaoh's tomb.

    The Greeks.  From the PBS series, Empires, this site introduces Ancient Greece.

    Walk the Wall A small virtual tour of parts of the Great Wall of China. 

Explorers

    Age of Exploration  This Mariner's Museum site has biographies of explorers and associated people.

    Big Chalk Explorers:  This has an alphabetical listing of a wide number of explorers.  

    Discoverers by Alphabet:  Find your explorer in this extensive site.

    Discoverers Web:  The  Discoverers by Alphabet (above) is easier to use, but if you can't find your explorer there, try this site.  It has a LOT of information.

    Explorers of the Millenium:  This site has good information on a large number of explorers.  

    Jacques Cousteau Society  Web site.  This site has a lot of information about Jacques Cousteau.

    Zoom Explorers:  Quick overviews of a large number of explorers.  Check this site
out to help determine which explorer you want to do your report on.
