Support Thoreau

Students are involved with technology at Thoreau in many
different ways. Our library has five Compaq PC computers and four Macintosh
computers where students can access our collection of CD ROM software as well
as the Internet. The district's card catalog is also available via computer
terminal to assist students in locating the resources they need.
Each classroom at Thoreau has from two to ten CD ROM/Internet capable
computers. Students use them for word processing, Internet research,
educational programs and various multimedia projects.
Third through Sixth grade students also visit Thoreau's Mac (Technology
Learning Center) twice a week to work on projects from the classroom, brush
up on skills, or practice their keyboarding skills.
