Library Helpers program

Contact our Librarian, Mrs. Lisa Everitt

Thoreau Student Librarians have an important role in keeping our library clean, organized and running smoothly. They come once a week, either before or after school, or during morning, lunch or afternoon recess. The 4th, 5th and 6th grade Librarians may sign up to help with checkout during their classroom library time.

Job applications are made available to 2nd – 6th graders in October and must be filled out by the student and signed by their parent and teacher. Then the schedule is set and training takes place before the actual volunteering begins, usually in late November.

They are given small treats throughout the year and we have a big party/lunch at the end of the year to celebrate.

This year’s helpers: 2005-6 school year

We have a wonderful group of kids helping out this year!

There are over 50 Student Librarians this year. Please check back soon for the new list.
