PRINCIPAL’S PERSPECTIVE
Veteran’s
Day
We are in
the final stages of planning a Veteran’s Day assembly for students on
November 10, 9:45am to 10:15am. As the assembly will be for all
students, it will be held in the gym/commons. The program will focus on
honoring Veterans. The website www.va.gov/vetsday/
offers several ideas of enriching Veteran’s Day for families, if you are
looking for resources to help your child(ren) develop an appreciation for the
service provided by our nation’s veterans.

NEW SOUND SYSYTEM
A huge
“Thank You!” goes to the Thompson family, whose donation, in memory of their
daughter Kara, has helped to fund the purchase and installation of a terrific
sound system in the Commons of Thoreau. Friday, at the Aloha Dance, will be
the first official use of the new system and one of Kara’s favorite songs
will be played to honor the memory of Kara.
LUNCH
Please
remember to keep your child’s lunch account with a positive balance. The
price of a lunch is $2.00 and it comes with milk or juice. If only milk or
juice is purchased, the price is $.50. You may send cash or a check to school
or you may call the district, 425 702-3393, and put money on their account by
using your charge card.
