PRINCIPAL’S
PERSPECTIVE
Character
Development
I’ve been
reading a small publication recently that shares ideas around character
development in children. There are several ideas that I feel are worth
sharing and I hope to bring you these ideas from time to time when space
allows in the Frog News. Hopefully you will find something helpful in this
edition around the subject of being respectful. The format of this
information is designed to give parents discussion points and questions when
talking with kids about the subject at hand.
Showing respect for yourself means:
*working hard in school
*Setting goals for your life and
working
towards them
*Taking care of your body
*Not listening to people who put
you down
Showing respect for others means:
*Using courteous language
*Behaving appropriately in class
*Returning what you borrow in good
condition
*Listening without interrupting
Questions About Respect:
*How does it benefit someone to
show respect
for others?
*How many times a day do you show
respect
for others?
*In what ways can you show respect
for the
environment?
Challenge!
*Look for three situations in
which you can
show respect for an elderly person.
*Describe a situation in which you
showed
respect to someone this week.
*Describe a situation in which
someone
showed you respect this week.
“Respect means
listening until everyone has been heard and understood, only then is there a
possibility of balance and harmony” – Dave Chief

atmosphere with scented candles?

massage?

mug of herbal tea and a good book?
There is still time, Monday,
November 1, is our deadline. Please bring basket items to Sally Freni in the

the dances through out the night. The appropriate age group that will enjoy
