Student Objectives:
- Develop a love of music, both listening and performing.
- Learn a repertoire of songs and dances from the United States and around the world.
- Demonstrate through performance an understanding of concepts in rhythm, melody, form, texture, timbre, and harmony.
- Develop skills in cooperative learning and self-awareness through ensemble performance.
- Respond with active participation to music of many different styles.
- Gain cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Learn to use movement as a form of creative expression.
