All about Ms. Clark

Hello!

My name is Amanda Clark and this is my tenth year teaching at Redmond Elementary School. I have taught first, second, and third grade at Redmond El. and have learned a lot from each experience.  There is just something about the staff and students at this school that make people want to be a part of what is happening here. I have been teaching first grade for four years and think it is so exciting to witness a child in their first year of school!

Before becoming a teacher, I grew up in Seattle and attended Roosevelt High School.  I was a cheerleader and was very involved in the drama program, performing in many plays and musicals.  After graduating high school, I went to Central Washington University to get my degree in Elementary Education.  I majored in Elementary Ed. and received two minors; one in Special Education and the other in Early Childhood Education.  In July 2004, I completed my Master's in Education with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy.  I am excited to use what I learned and find new ways to teach my current and future students.

When I am not teaching I like to spend time with my boyfriend James, my niece Kaylee and  my Dalmatian, Bailey. They all keep me fairly busy.  I also like to tap dance and sing.  In the winter months, I like to snowboard and cross-country ski.  In the summer, I worship the sun and spend most of my time outside doing anything and everything fun!

I absolutely love teaching and know it was what I was meant to do with my life.  It is so exciting to have a part in the education of a child.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with yours!
