** C-Team Suffer First Loss to LW ** 10-5-09: Lake Washington: The Stangs suffered their first lost against the Kangs on Monday night. The match was exciting and fast-paced. The Stangs looked stong, with great play from the defense – Keiko M., Nicole K., Hayley H., Kyla S., Olivia F., and Allison A. – and the midfield – Anneka B., Melissa E., D’Nae H., and Brooke L. The Stangs had some wonderful sequences of connected passing that illustrated why soccer is the beautiful game. Forwards Jackie M., Gabby V., Andrea S., . LW was able to squeeze a goal in during the 2nd half when the Stangs coverage broke down momentarily. Even though Redmond controlled the ball in the second half, they were unable to prevail, losing 1-0. Mustang of the Match: Allison A. ** JV Drop Match to Issaquah 2-0 ** 10-1-09: The JV played a strong match against the Issaquah Eagles. In the end it was a 0-2 loss but the mustangs should be very proud of the effort. After a couple shaky first minutes we really settled down and gave as well as we got. We ended the first half with a couple of good chances and ended 0-0. The second half was not the start we wanted when Eagles broke us down to get the lead. The gals stayed positive and kept up the pressure but a latish second half goal pushed the lead to 2-0. ** Stangs Keep Fighting in 2-4 Loss to Issaquah ** 10-1-09: The Mustangs had a sense of deja vu in the Issaquah match. Defensive lapses lead to two IHS goals but the Stangs kept fighting. As the first half ended it was the Stangs that were winning the battles and drew one goal back when Katie Woodman(?) headed on Jessica Larson's put to an on rushing Rachel Herron. Second half though proved pretty tough as the Eagles locked us into our defense for long periods of time and pushed the lead out to 4-1. he fighting Stangs kept up the pressure and got one back when Sarah Quigley pushed up in support and hit a wonderful ball that was expertly headed past the keeper by Amanda Dahl. OFF HAND NOTES: Last MOTM Celina Williams selected Sarah Quigley as the well deserved Mustang of the Match. ** Important Documents ** 2009 Pre-Season Information Sheet - Finally 2009 Parents Information Letter - Updated Fans come out and watch the greatest show on turf!
