October 9 An Actor's Nightmare 2006
Follow your Calendars for the week!

The first week of rehearsal was a great experience. I am delighted to get to know this group as together we bring Durang's artistry to life on our stage.  The custard now thickens as we grow into our understanding of this 'weird and wonderful one act'. I found through research this weekend a totally mind-boggling connection that I will share with you - perhaps one of the most interesting connections I have ever found for any play I have ever directed. Big statement, but this is quite a revelation.

Keep the super-objective in mind, because all of our ideas has to come back to it: the actor's life is a circular one, and the only way out of that pattern is to end it . . . but then it just begins again!

Whatever your responsibility is in our production stretch your skills and imagination and commitment to the edge of your abilities to find amazing new understandings and to realize your vast potential. At the same time remember that you have to take good care of yourselves, and to organize and plan your days and weeks so that this experience is a thrill and not a weight. Your grades should improve with this effort, not diminish. Your lives should become enhanced, not burdened. Together let's soar!

Calendar CHANGE:
The Costume Parade is changed to Saturday, October 28, from 3:30pm - 6:30pm. Please note that change on your calendars.

Attendance: With the fast paced nature of a production schedule it is vital that everyone is at scheduled meetings and rehearsals. Make a goal to not miss any meetings or rehearsals, and to make all of your deadlines.
8th period attendance is the same as any other class during the day. Absences needs to be excused through the attendance office with a phone call from your parent, or a note sent in.
Here is the list of students currently signed up for 8th period.
If you wake up sick you should also call the drama phone, or leave an email as soon as possible with Mac so that adjustments can be made to try to minimize the absence. (This applies to everyone, even if you are not enrolled in 8th).
***Remember if you want to ADD 3rd period for next semester you can do so right now by making an appointment with your counselor! You do not have to have a go-to-counselor for this change. COOL NEWS!! YOU CAN BE SIGNED UP for BOTH AFTER SCHOOL and 3rd PERIOD and receive credit for BOTH starting next semester!!

Lunch Meeting for all GIRL CAST MEMBERS plus COSTUME DIRECTORS (no crew at this meeting)

-Bring a sack lunch so we can get started right away, and be clean and ready to try on clothes if you are asked to. Huzzah for COSTUMES!!

All Company Poster Party 1:00 - 4:00pm ON STAGE!
Three cheers for PUBLICITY!!
          - Bring a snack, water, and comfy clothes so you can lay on the stage and color!

DIRECTORS: You are doing an awesome job. I will see you at our first meeting of the week on Monday. Be prepared to share all of your ideas and questions.

CREWS: Your Directors are counting on you! If you are going to miss a meeting you are required to let both MAC and your Directors know. Check the crew list for costuming and publicity (on the main drama webpage - click on the play title) and see if there are people that didn't make the meetings last week. Let them know about the Monday letter and the meetings for this week. Thanks!.

CAST: If you have lines I expect you to be pretty much memorized this week. Work hard on this right now so that memorization is not an issue. Rehearsal tapes, and a way for you to listen to them, are due at rehearsal on Monday. EVERYONE will be fitted for costumes this week. Remember to come to rehearsals with an extra tee shirt, deodorant, toothpaste and brush. Always wash your hands with soap before rehearsal, and before you head up to the costume attic. Make sure you have water to drink at rehearsal (or are making trips to the drinking fountain). All show shoes need to be talked about and if possible in use by the end of this week.

Club PHOTO Day is THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12, during REBTIME in the FIELDHOUSE! These are the photos that go on the walls of Juanita, and in the annual. Don't miss this photo shoot - we want your smiling face to be part of this year's photo memory!
Come to the Auditorium right after you check in with Rebtime. We will go on down to the Photo Shoot together. If you are in another club make sure you get in that photo, too. DRAMA BOARD is in charge of keeping the group together, so just keep coming back to the Drama group after you take your other photos until we are called. . I want everyone to dress up - look your best with bright interesting clothing. We want to stand out in the hallways! Smile:)
