2nd Annual Gary Groenen Golf Tournament September 20, 2008
On behalf of the Juanita Baseball Diamond Club, we thank you in advance for your interest and participation in our 2nd Annual Gary Groenen Golf Tournament. This major fundraiser supports the Juanita High School Baseball program. The tournament this year will be held September 20th at Trilogy Golf Course at Redmond Ridge. The cost of the tournament is $125 per player. You are encouraged to register a group of four as a team, otherwise you will be grouped in with three other players. The format will be a 4-person scramble, with shotgun start at 8AM. Lunch will be provided after golf.
This annual event is key in building a tradition including JHS Alumni, current players, the business community, friends and family of our local baseball community. There will be raffle items, auction items, contests, prizes, Rebel Gear, and many exciting things going on throughout the day. We are excited that you have decided to be a part of this annual event. Come prepared to have a great time.

The JHS Cheer Squad is Hosting a Pageant!!
This year, the Juanita Varsity Cheerleading Squad is out to find the first Mr. Juanita!! The cheer squad will be searching for Mr. Juanita, a senior gentleman from the ranks of the Juanita student body, who maintains a high degree of spirit for Juanita Athletics, Events and Activities! How will the squad find the first ever Mr. Juanita??? A pageant!!

On September 20th, we invite the Juanita Community to witness a pageant showcasing our candidates’ various skills and expertise. Among the events at the pageant: an opening dance number, an eveningwear round, sportswear round, talent round, and an interview question. Our panel of judges will be members of the Juanita Community. Awards given at the end of the evening will include: Mr. Popularity (the student body will vote on this the week prior during lunches at school), Mr. Congeniality (voted on by the contestants), Mr. Talent and of course, Mr. Juanita (both voted on by the judges)!!

This is a fundraiser for the JHS Varsity Cheer Squad. Admission at the door for the event will be $5 to assist the squad in paying for competition fees and related expenses. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th in the auditorium...hope to see you there!

Boys and Girls Cross Country is having a “Fund Run” September 13th at Kamiakin Junior High. The athletes will be running around the track nonstop for one hour to see how many laps they can complete in that time. We are asking that supporters make either a per lap or flat rate donation. We would like to buy new shorts for our uniforms, start replacing our older equipment, help with gas purchases to attend Invitationals, and purchase snacks for our athletes at meets.

Our first meet is September 10th at Lake Sammamish State park at 3:00 p.m. Our first league meet is September 17th at Big Finn Park. Also, September 27th the varsity teams will attend the Nike Pre-National Meet in Portland, Oregon, one of the most prestigious meets in the country.
