During Fall of 2007 our Emergency
Preparedness & Safety Committee met for our first quarterly
meeting of the year. The team consists of staff, students
and parents from Finn Hill and EAS. The following items
were among the discussion:
The 2007-08 handbook was reviewed and
put into place for the new year. We continue to update
the handbook each year.
Parents will be asked to come into
the Student Office to check out a student for early dismissal. Parents
will also be asked to provide proper identification upon
arrival. Students will no longer be allowed to wait
for parents near the parking lot for early dismissal. Please
plan ahead and leave enough time before appointments for
coming into the school to pick up your student. Sending
a note ahead of time will ensure that the student is in the
office and ready upon your arrival.
We encourage you to visit our campus
whenever you have pre-arranged to do so. Please call
ahead to make appointments with staff and check in with the
office when you arrive. All visitors will be asked
to wear a badge while on campus during our open hours from
7:00am to 4:00pm. Checking in and out of our office
will ensure that we know who is on campus should an emergency
occur.
As always, we are continuing with our
monthly fire drills, as well as our bi-annual Intruder and
Earthquake Drills. Students have done very well so
far with our drills and we are making slight changes as needed.
As always, safety of our students
is a very high priority. Please feel free to contact
the Safety Committee through Mrs. Lewis or Mr. Scarpelli with
any questions or concerns. |
