Dear Prospective Family,

Thank you for your interest in Community School. In the past, the Community School admission procedure has been based on a waiting list. Starting with the Fall of 2009, Community School’s admissions policy will align with the district standard for Choice Schools. This standard is a computer-generated, blind lottery system that takes place the spring before students enter the school. It gives all who apply an equal chance to attend. Our Procedures & FAQs page explains the lottery process and the requirements that you will need to follow.

For those families who have submitted their child’s name, have paperwork or are currently on an Interest/Wait List, you will need to follow the lottery system procedures as outlined in the attached information. This change means that any paperwork on file for the 2009 – 2010 and/or 2010 – 2011 school year is no longer in effect and you will have to reapply in accordance with the new lottery guidelines attached.
