.25 CREDIT EARNED AFTER STUDENT DEMONSTRATES MASTERY OF ASSIGNED WORK

 

Learning and applying unfamiliar terms and concepts is a skill you will need in new jobs, in College, and in your independent adult life.  This unit is practice for future learning. It also will help you think better in every subject because when creating art, you use both hemispheres of your brain at the same time. 500 TOTAL POINTS

 

ART ANALYSIS AND APPRECIATION           Total 150 Points

4. Elements of Design: Pretest; in-class discussion/slide show/structured note-taking

5. Choose a Culture Project: show and tell about art from a time and place in the past
    that interests you, using beginning PowerPoint skills           		50Pt.

       

ART PRODUCTION AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT                    Total 250 Points

6. Pencil Pouch Card Art: create personalized name-art on 5”x7” card (Math skills refresher) 20Pt.

7. Art Room Scavenger Project: create spontaneous art and learn to find tools and materials  30pt.

8. Personalized Portfolio Project: make a folder to store your art, using typestyles and the Elements of          

              Design                                                                                                                        50Pt.

9. Elements of Design booklet: applying each Element in your own work, photographs, or artwork chosen from art calendars or online artwork, or your own digital photography                    40 Pt.

10. Drawing eyes: learn how and compare your work before and after instruction                      30Ppt.

11. Drawing hands: contour line drawing and beyond, plus handprints and fingerprint drawing 30Pt.

12. Hand and Eye project in media of choice: original artwork using hands and eyes       50Pt.
