Classroom Rules
While in the Classroom
Follow the Motto of
Superman
Truth
Justice
The American Way
|
 |
Before you act, before
you speak, ask yourself “What would Superman do in a situation like
this?” Then act accordingly.
 |
Truth |
Be
Honest - Superman would never tell a lie. Neither should you.
 |
Justice
|
Be
Safe - Superman protects the weak physically, mentally, and
emotionally. So should you.
 |
The
American Way |
Be
Courteous - As an example to all Superman would never
participate in cussing, cut-downs, or crude behavior. Neither
should you.
Be
Prepared - Superman would never show up without having done his
homework, without the necessary materials, or with a bad
attitude. Neither should you.
Participate - At the end of a hard days work at the daily
planet, Superman doesn’t have to fly around helping people, but
he does.

Rewards Card
Students are expected to follow Carson rules in all settings and the
rules that apply in each teacher’s classroom, as well. The 5/6 team
uses “Reward” cards to help students “own” their choices and
behaviors. Each new month will start a new card. Any Carson adult in
a teaching or supervising role may have input on a student’s
card—this includes recess time, in the computer lab, PE, music and
playground. Each week, students have the opportunity to earn two
stamps. These stamps are rewards for behavior and work completion.
Students who earn the stamps will be rewarded at the end of the
month (recess, food, games, etc.).
Those short of stamps will go to the Opportunity Room where they
will have the opportunity to reflect upon his/her choices and write
a plan for using better judgment.
