Reading
Students are focusing on
nonfiction book selections. We will read a story on the Great Wall
of China along with some true-life selections from our reading book.
We may do one more short novel study about Jaime Escalante (math
teacher in Southern Los Angeles.
Writing
Multi paragraph essays.
Adding the blues (research).
Math
Bits and Pieces II
(More with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
Students are working hard explaining what it "means" to show "part"
of a "part" here, as well as, learn the traditional algorithm.
Social Studies
China WOW! reports. These
are going very well. Students are working hard nearly each day and
school night on these. I hope they can make a book they are proud of
for years to come.
Science
Diversity of Life science
kit. Our cockroaches are keeping us company. They even have names.
Art

Tech
Type to Learn. Students
will be paid at a rate of $.25 per lesson they complete.
Misc.
I will be teaching the
students how to tie a neck tie and open a combination lock.
